Chad Perkins Obituary
Chad Perkins “Wolverine”, age 45, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, April 12, 2026. Chad was a devoted husband to his wife Cara and “father” to four kitties putting down their roots in Mauston, Wisconsin.
On September 15th, 2024 Chad married Cara Perkins (Holsclaw) in Sparta, Wisconsin. Although Chad and Cara’s time together was cut shorter than anyone could have imagined, their time together was filled with adoration, laughter, love, and a bond that shaped both of their lives.
Chad’s Christian faith was steady, grounding who he was. He didn’t wear it loudly, but more quietly through the way he showed up for people, the way he loved, and the way he offered strength without judgment. His faith gave him a sense of peace and purpose.
Chad had a big heart, big shoulders, and an even bigger personality. He loved his family and friends fiercely, and was a rock in life. He was always the person you could call for anything, when you needed a laugh, or when you needed a listening ear. He had a whimsical streak in him, a kind of quiet magic that showed up in the way he thought, the way he joked, the way he saw the world. He could make even the heaviest days feel a little less heavy.
Chad’s earlier years were spent being nothing short of a protector. His morals were intrinsic to who he truly was. The protector in him was always there in every season of life.
Chaddy Cakes will forever be remembered for his loyalty, humor, and strength shaping the lives of those who he loved.
He is survived by his wife Cara; mother Lynda, (Ralph) Cottone; his younger siblings Terry Lee Tabbert, Cody (Kallie) Tabbert, and Shannon Tabbert. He was the beloved uncle to Jaramiah, Tyler, Evelynn, Airreyanna, Jazmyn, Jaysie (Jaybird), Jaxon, Juliana (Jules), Abby, and Maxie, and God-Father to Klairabelle, Aubree, Paisley O’Neil, and Juliana.
