Bryan L Hillmer Obituary

Bryan Hillmer, age 71, a long time resident of the Deforest Morrisonville and Arlington community passed away peacefully in his recliner (a true wish) surrounded by good memories of family and friends, Monday September 16, 2024.

Bryan, a 1971 graduate of Madison LaFollette, was born and raised in the Lake Edge Park area of the far east side. He was the third son to Nathan and Betty Hillmer. Bryan retired from GE Medical Systems where he made many good friends. He was an avid outdoorsman and truly enjoyed fishing, hunting, ATVing, and all that nature has to offer.

He is survived by his older brother Warren (Sheila) of Cottage Grove; daughter Heather of California and son Christopher (Samantha); grandchildren Mika and Ari of Florida; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bryan was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brother Allen, Stepson Dennis Romeo and former wife Judy Whitehorse.

Anyone who knew Bryan-Bernie-Hillmer knows that he loved retirement as much as his children, as much as the outdoors and as well as the Budweiser. With a deep aversion to sauerkraut, he loved green beans (French cut), taco Tuesday, and Friday fish fry. The family appreciates all those who befriended Bryan over the years. “Always be prepared” “Proper preparation prevents pi** poor performance” “Time flies when you are having fun”

Per Bryan's wishes no service will be held. Friends and family will celebrate his life in many ways.
