Bradley A. Bennett, 67, of rural Montello, died Saturday, January 2, 2021. He was born April 21, 1953 in Sutersville, PA. to Harold and Irene (Kay) Bennett.
As a young boy, his family moved to Paxton, IL., then finally settling Pontiac, Il. Brad graduated from Pontiac High School in 1971. After H.S. he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. His first marriage in 1973 was blessed with two daughters, Carmody and Emily whom he loved dearly. In 1982 welcomed a son, Hunter. In 2003, he married Laurie Plank in Montello. They spent 18 years together as true partners.
Brad worked many years as an electrician and electrical engineer, starting at the Pontiac Correctional Center and ending with at the Madison United Healthcare Laundry. He loved to share his knowledge of nature. Brad loved morel hunting, walks every morning with his dogs and good friends and with his grandchildren, camping, and wildlife photography. If it needed to be fixed, Brad could do it. He was always working on some home improvement project. Brad had a silly side but was always caring at heart.
Survivors include his beautiful wife Laurie; two daughters, Carmody (Kevin) and Emily (Chuck); son Hunter (Ashley Hicks); step daughters, Kimberly (Joe) Vergin and Kaylin Asmus; 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; 1 brother, 4 sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Harold and mother Irene.
