Betty Stankiewicz

Betty Stankiewicz, age 89, passed away peacefully at home in Rio Tuesday, July 25, 2023. She was born December 19, 1933 in Stanton, Nebraska to William and Teresa Glaser. She was a devoted wife to William E. Stankiewicz and mother of 8 children, William A. Stankiewicz, Wane Stankiewicz (Teri), David Stankiewicz (Karen), Cheryl Stankiewicz, Dale Stankiewicz, Teri Stankiewicz, Sandra Stankiewicz-Nyquist and Mark Stankiewicz (Crystal); 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grand children and 3 great-great grandchildren.

In her youth, Betty enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with her family. Betty and her husband, William often enjoyed cooking together, whether it be traditional dishes or experimenting with new recipes of their own. Betty also enjoyed keeping her mind sharp with jigsaw and crossword puzzles on a daily basis, as well as inventing words of her own during games of Scrabble with her children and grandchildren. Most of all, Betty enjoyed watching the ones she loved flourish in life. Whether it be attending a wedding or something as simple as a small family dinner, Betty cherished every moment spent with the people she loved.
