Aaron K. Sowieja Obituary

Aaron Keller Sowieja, age 40 passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 2, 2023, at his home. Aaron was born September 19, 1982, in Marshfield Wisconsin to Deborah (Keller) Crawford and Robert Sowieja.

He attended Poynette High School and ultimately earned his degree in Electrical Maintenance at Madison College. A special thank you to his instructor Tom Helbig. You were more than an instructor, you were his mentor and his friend. Aaron truly wanted to make a positive impact on the lives of others.  When Aaron was asked to speak at conferences, he wholeheartedly accepted the invitations and the opportunities to make that positive impact. He hoped by sharing his story of obstacles and triumphs he could encourage others and show that they too could overcome challenges and create a better life. Aaron was a smart, funny, quick-witted, hard-working man and father. When he wasn't working he loved spending time with his girls, being outside fishing and hiking, loved cooking, cheering on his favorite sports teams, and he never turned down a dance party with Nattie.

Aaron is survived by his two beautiful daughters Arianna and Natalee Sowieja and the devoted mother of his children Tara Reed.
He is also survived by his parents Deborah and John Crawford and Robert and Lisa Sowieja, stepbrother and stepsister, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Harriet Keller and his paternal grandparents, Gene and Josephine Sowieja

Aaron knew that the definition of family goes beyond those related by blood.  He was especially grateful for the love and support of his “bonus mom and dad” Theresa and Mark Hemling, his “brother” Jesse, and loving friend Megan; all of whom he considered his “family.”

Please join us for a celebration of his life on Saturday, June 24th, 2023 at the Poynette Presbyterian Church, 224 N. Main St. Poynette WI.  Please bring memories to share at 10:00 am. There will be a short service following at 10:30 am. Thank you Pastor Paul for your guidance, support, and kindness during this difficult time. Memorials may be directed to Landmark Credit Union in Fall River WI where a fund has been established on behalf of his children.
