Willis “Bill” T. Hinzman, age 84 of Rio, passed away peacefully Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena.
He was born April 28, 1934 in Rio, the son of Roland and Alice (Peterson) Hinzman. He graduated from Rio High School in 1952. He worked for Rio Farmers Union COOP while in High School which lead to a full time position as a book keeper after graduation. He held the position of village clerk for Rio for 13 years. Bill served his community on the Rio Fire Department for 50 plus years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include four siblings Nancy Reardon of Reedsburg, David (Grace) Hinzman of Rio, Lloyd (Sharon) Hinzman of Madison, and Fred (Sandy) Hinzman of Madison, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Roger Hinzman, sister-in-law Beverly Hinzman and brother-in-law Richard Reardon, and nephew Kirk Hinzman.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1 at 4:30 PM at Grasse Funeral Home, 401 Angel Way, Rio with Rev. Ann Walsvik officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio Cemetery in Rio. Visitation will held from 2:30 PM until the time of services at the funeral home Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Columbia Health Care Center, Willow Court in Willis’ memory.
