William R. Hayes

William "Bill" R. Hayes, 80 of Pardeeville, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg.

He was born at home in Jump River, WI to Ray and Rena Hayes. Bill worked for Madison Crushing and Excavating and was a member of Local 139 until his retirement in 2002. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, ran a maple syrup business, and was a frequent traveler. Bill was also a member of the Lac Courte Oreilles Indian Tribe.

Survivors include his beloved partner Barb Dalton and his children William Hayes Jr. (fiance Maryla and her children), Robert Hayes, Susan (Rick) Duerst; Barb’s children Betty, JoEllyn (Mike), and Tom (Rhonda); grandchildren Zachary Duerst and Brooke Duerst; sister Julie (Merritt), aunt Veronica; mother of Bill’s children, Sharyl Hayes; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Leona and Phyllis.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, April 30 at 11 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Buffalo Township with Father Mark Miller presiding. Inurnment will follow in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of services at the church Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carbone Cancer Center or Agrace Hospice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Agrace and the staffs of Dr. Callander and Dr. Murray.
