Thomas J. Kochom

Thomas J. Kochom, 60 of Rio, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at The Bay at North Ridge Nursing and Rehab in Manitowoc.

He was born October 15, 1959 in Illinois, the son of Robert and Jennie (Rudzinski) Kochom. He attended Rio High School and graduated in 1977. He worked several jobs throughout the years. Tom had a passion for baseball, coaching 20 plus years for the Rio Little League and coaching a couple of years for high school. He was also active in the Columbia County Little League Association and the Rio Softball Association and was an avid Chicago Bear fan.

Tom is survived by sister Lu Ann (Gerald) Dalton of Westfield; brother John Kochom (Amy Wescott) of Rio; two nieces Cristelle Mills and Jennifer Dalton; nephew Garrett Kochom; three great nieces and three great nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bob, and niece Candace Jerome.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held Thursday, October 24 from 4 to 8 PM at Grasse Funeral Home, 401 Angel Way, Rio. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be used for funeral expenses.
