Theodore "Ted" H. LaReau

July 30, 1930 ~ October 14, 2017 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Theodore “Ted” H. LaReau, age 87 of Pardeeville, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 14, 2017 at his home.

He was born July 30, 1930 in Spencer, Massachusetts, to Rene and Pauline (Burill) LaReau. When Ted was young, the family moved to Madison and later to a farm in Poynette. He attended a one-room school house until the eighth grade. When Ted turned 16, the family moved back to New York where they built a log cabin While out East, he met Betty Moore, his love of his life, at the age of 18, the family moved back to Morrisonville, Wisconsin where they resided until the 1970’s, where then Ted and Betty built their current home outside of Pardeeville. He spent 38 years as a carpenter for Vogel Brothers before retirement in 1992. Together, Ted and Betty spent 52 joyous years together and where blessed with two sons. Ted is well known around the area for being a talented craftsman with wood. He also enjoyed building remote control airplanes and ham radio operation. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who truly enjoyed the outdoors.

Survivors include two sons; Rene (Joleen) LaReau of Pardeeville and Erling (Julie) LaReau of Pardeeville, five grandchildren; Nicole, Kari, Michael, Ryan, and Jayda, seven great-grandchildren, one sister Rosemary Opsal of Barneveld, two sisters-in-law Clarice LaReau of Pardeeville and Jean LaReau of Madison, many nieces and newphes and special friend Shirlee Raught of Portage.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, grandson Jayme, two sisters Annette and Joan, six brothers Albert, Paul, Bernard, Anthony, Edward, and infant brother.

Per Ted’s request, no formal services will be held. Private burial will be held at Wyocena Cemetery. Ted also requests, that family and friends remember him as he was in life.
