She was born on August 8, 1951 in Portage to Kenneth and Catharine (Pratt) Gibson. She graduated from Pardeeville High School in 1969 and was united in marriage to Thomas Kurtz on November 27, 1971. Tana was an avid reader, an artist, and was the biggest fan of whatever sport or activity her grandchildren were involved in. She also enjoyed crocheting and creating arts and crafts with her grandkids. Tana is survived by her loving husband, Tom, two daughters Kena (Mike) Mackey of Pardeeville and Tabitha (Ryan) Schoeneberg of Poynette, grandchildren Braylen, Caleb, Talan, Brynli and Greyson, brothers Dennis (Darlene) Gibson and Alan Gibson, sister Cherie Kallenbach, sister in law Judy Gibson, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gary and Terrie Kurtz, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Larryne (Art) Atkinson, brothers Jim Gibson and Ricki Gibson, and parents-in-law Clarence and Martha Kurtz.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the UW Carbone Cancer Center and Meriter Hospital for the wonderful care given over the last year. This quote simply describes the way that our wife and mother lived her life. “Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need.” - Khalil Gibran
Her immediate family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
