Shirley A. Maier

Shirley A. Maier, 82, formerly of Saddle Ridge/Portage, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Marshall.

She was born June 17, 1936 in Dodgeville, the daughter of Rudolf and Helena (Butteris) Gerber. She married Harry W. Maier in 1954. This union blessed them with four children. Shirley enjoyed her daily walks, playing euchre, crafting, and had a heart for caring for her pets.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her four children, Debbie (Steve) Rohrbeck; Jean (Stuart) Zimmerman, Kay (Todd) Schleef, and Mark (Amy) Maier; also her grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, Janice Olday and Franny Trainor, and brother Norman (Marge) Gerber.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry of 63 years whom she cared for until his death in 2017; sisters Betty, Mary Ann, Berneice, and Alice; brothers Bob, Joe, and George and other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 21 at 12 Noon at Grasse Funeral Home, 119 Industrial Drive, Pardeeville. Interment will follow at Pardeeville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the time of services. The family would like to extend as special thank you to the staffs of Agrace Hospice and the Columbia Healthcare Center for their compassionate care of our Mom.
