Ronald ”Ronnie” Lee Jaynes Jr., 48 of Portage, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 under the care of Agrace Hospice at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
He was born October 13, 1970 to Ronald Lee Sr. and Dorotha (Krontz) Jaynes in Lima, OH. Ronnie lived in Ohio for most of his younger years until his dad’s employment moved them around in various places. He had lived in Georgia, Indiana, and Wisconsin. In his early 20’s, Ronnie had ventured to Florida and worked a few construction type jobs and eventually came back to Wisconsin to be with family. It was then he was diagnosed with a mental health disorder. He was supported by Journey Mental Health Center in Portage until his passing. Ronnie had lived in Portage where he was a friend to many in helping others by giving them rides. He loved his music especially “Rock N Roll”. He had a heart of gold and would make a complete stranger smile. Ronnie was baptized February 11, 2019 and was so happy that day.
Survivors include two brothers, Terry (Jodi) of Columbus and William (Pam) of Fall River; nieces and nephews, Amber (Christophe) Vrielinck, Joshua (Heather Hanlon), Daniel (Shauna), Samantha (Adam Agnew), Timothy (Scout Bahr) and Jeremy (Brittany); four great nieces and three great nephews, many aunts, uncles from various states and Tommy Jaynes of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 6 at 6 PM at Grasse Funeral Home, 401 Angel, Rio. Visitation will be held from 4 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to be used for funeral expenses. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Columbia Health Care Center, Agrace Hospice, and Grasse Funeral Service for all you have done this past year. A special thank you to Journey Mental Health for everything you have done for Ronnie over the years. “Rest in peace Ronnie, we will never forget your chuckle.”
