Roger R. Kershaw, age 90 of Pardeeville, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena.
He was born June 4, 1927 to Herbert and Sara (Murray) Kershaw. He graduated from Portage High School in 1945. Roger proudly served his country in the U.S Navy from 1945 to 1946 during WWII. He was united in marriage to his love of his life Ellowyn Kopplin November 13, 1951. Roger and Ellowyn were blessed with two children Byron and Barbara. Roger served on the Pacific Town Board for several years and resided in Pacific Township all his life.
Roger worked as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1990. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He was an avid euchre player, loved working crossword puzzles, and reading about history.
Survivors include his wife Ellowyn of 66 years, children Byron (Laura) Kershaw and Barbara (Dale) Scholl; two grandchildren Aron Kershaw and Eric (Trista) Kershaw, one great grandson Leland Kershaw, sister Irma Pendleton and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Sara Kershaw, and two sisters Maxine Packard and Shirley Dolgner.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23 at 11 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 850 Armstrong Street, Portage with Rev. Greg Hovland officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Pacific Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of services at the church Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Roger’s memory may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in Portage. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agrace Hospice and the Columbia Health Care Center for the care they gave Roger.
