Rita K. Baillies

December 8, 1942 ~ November 17, 2017 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Pardeeville - Rita K. Baillies, 74, of Pardeeville, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Columbia County Health Care Center, surrounded by her family, after a brief fight with cancer.
 

Rita was born December 8, 1942, in Strawn, Illinois, the daughter of Marion H. and Rosalie (Wudtke) Morris. On December 7, 1963, she married Tony Baillies. Rita took pride in being a homemaker and raising her children. Over the years, she worked as a crossing guard, an Avon lady, and at Kwik Trip. Rita was an avid reader and always recommending books. Rita enjoyed writing poetry and had many poems published. She also loved to write letters to the editor expressing her opinion. She and Tony enjoyed visiting the many casinos in Wisconsin.

Rita is survived by her husband Tony, Wyocena; three sons, Joseph (Michele) Baillies of Pardeeville, Patrick (Cassie Ripp) Baillies of Portage, and Nick (Craig Kramer) Baillies of Madison; grandchildren, Brandon Baillies, Queen Creek, AZ, Kaci Baillies, Madison, and Sara Baillies, Madison; two sisters, Lynn (Bob) O'Reilly of DeForest and Patricia (Mary Lizzotte) Morris of Endeavor; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marlene Durand and June Baker; and two brothers, Rodney Morris and Fredrick Morris.

At Rita's request, there will be a private service for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Angie W. Cox Public Library, Pardeeville, so others can share in her passion for reading.

Special thanks to the staff at the Columbia County Health Care Center in Wyocena for their excellent care, Dr. Steven Felician in Pardeeville, and Divine Savior Emergency Room.
