Richard Ryan, age 87, of Wyocena, passed away on July 2, 2018 at Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena.
Richard was born on March 21, 1931 to late Bernard and Margaret Ryan. He was united in marriage to JoAnn Rinde on July 2, 1955. He served his country for 4 years in the US Navy. He was a truck driver all his life, as he enjoyed giving his grandkids rides in his dump truck. He was an active member of his community as he served on the Wyocena fire department, along with putting in more than 20 years on the village board of Wyocena. He took pride in putting the American flags on the soldier’s graves, along with setting up the buntings on the bridge every year for the Memorial Day parade with his friend, Paul Crary. He was a life long member of St. Faustina Parish in Pardeeville. He enjoyed curling, watching the Packers, Brewers, and the Badgers play, taking his dog companions on long walks around Wyocena, and making great memories with friends and family.
He is survived by his daughter, Bunny Jo Krumscheid (Donald); Sisters, Bernadine James, JoAnn Baron(Daniel); son-in-law, Douglas Vandermoon; special friend, Jane Bartels; Grandkids, Jason Krumscheid, Josh (Leticia) Krumscheid, Ryan Jahn, Joseph(Katie) Jahn, Erin (Shane) Krumscheid, Rocky(Amy) Vandermoon, and Casey(Craig) Crary. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Margaret Ryan; wife JoAnn (Rhinde) Ryan; daughter Cherie (Ryan) Vandermoon; brothers, Earl Ryan, Floyd Ryan; sister, Alice (Ryan) Simon; brothers-in-law, William James, Kenneth Crilley, and George Simon. His two special dog companions, Kelly and Patty.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pardeeville, with the Rev. Paul Eruva presiding. Interment with full military honors will follow at Wyocena Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Friday, July 6, at Grasse Funeral Home, 119 Industrial Drive, Pardeeville. Visitation will also be from 9 AM until the time of services Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to: CHCC Foundation Inc.
