Richard Stauber Obituary

Richard T. Stauber, of Pardeville died at home Friday, June 29, 2018. 

He was born in Portage to Richard and Meta (Engel) Stauber April 4, 1929. He graduated from Portage High School in 1949 and immediately entered the U.S. Marine Corps.  After discharge, he earned a college degree in education and spent a career in teaching and/or educational administration. He married Donna Nelson June 20, 1953 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Portage. 

He is survived by his wife and children: June (Mark) Oswald, Texas; Richard N. Stauber, Pardeville; Lynn Stauber, Portage; and Gwenn Stauber, Pardeville.  He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Christopher LeNoble, Jillian LeNoble, Cullen Oswald, Paige (Howard) Wiese, and Jacob Rogers and a great grandchild, Aurora Wiese.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David.

Memorial services with full military honors will be held Friday, July 6 at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Portage with Pastor Greg Hoveland officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service at the church.  A luncheon/meal will follow the service.  Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran School Tuition Fund or to Agrace Hospice.

The family wishes to express their grateful thanks to Agrace Hospice staff for their exceptional and compassionate care.
