Mary F. Jacob, 92 of Wyocena, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born January 30, 1926 in Otsego Township, the daughter of Perry and Saddie (Webber) Henton. She was united in marriage to Henry Jacob August 21, 1943 in Rio. Mary lived in the Columbia County area all her life. Mary and her husband Henry lived on a farm outside of Doylestown until 1963 when they moved to Doylestown. She had a love for traveling, baking, canning, and flowers, especially zinnias and peonies which she took great pride of. Mary worked at the Rio Glove Factory, the Cambria Canning Factory, and the Garment Clothing Factory in Columbus. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Doylestown for 55 years.
Mary had a kind spirit, known for her ease in frequent conversation with family, friends, and even total strangers. Her contagious smile and entertaining sense of humor with her sweet and simple demeanor won the trust and hearts of many, which was an inspiration to all who knew her. Mary would say she “enjoyed life.” She had a strong will to live and a unwavering faith in God.
Survivors include her sons Gordon (Patsy) Jacob, of Oakfield, and Richard (Bonnie) Jacob, of Pardeeville; daughters Judy Baldridge, of Soldotna, AK, and Patti (Mike) Kittleson-Curry of Kasilof, AK; grandchildren Trevor and Troy Jacob, Christopher Smith and Melissa Jacob, Jessie and Larry Kittleson; great-grandchildren Kyla and Dylan Jacob, Emma Jacob, Nicholas Smith, Kelli Gulley, Noelle Smith, George and Henry Kittleson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry G. Jacob; grandson John H. Kittleson; son-in-law James Baldridge; parents Perry and Saddie Henton; two sisters and a brother; father and mother-in-law George and Ida Jacob, many beloved sisters and brothers of the Jacob family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10 at 12 Noon at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Doylestown. Interment will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Doylestown. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of services at the church Saturday. A luncheon at Grasse Funeral Home in Rio will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, cards and donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.
