Gilbert S. Percifield

Gilbert Scott Percifield, Jr. was born into eternal life on March 6th, 2019 suddenly at the age of 73 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. His beloved wife Mary and his cherished daughter Marci at his side.

Gilbert wanted it to be known that he died being stubborn and raising hell for the past seven decades.Gilbert had a Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from MATC. Gilbert was known for many creative desserts; however, he was best known for his cheese cakes. He enjoyed his whiskey, the Packers, the Badgers, poker, bar dice, fishing, a good game of pool and sitting at the campfire with family and friends.

Although in the past few years his body didn’t allow him to golf or bowl, he enjoyed them for most of his life. Gilbert played AAA Baseball in his youth and had a promising future until injury prevented him from moving on.

Gilbert; AKA Gibby, AKA Gilly, AKA Gil, AKA Pain in the ass, was born on October 19th, 1945 to Gilbert Sr and Theresa Percifield. Gilbert was the 2nd eldest of 12 children.

Gilbert is survived by his devoted wife Mary Percifield of 20 years. Beloved daughter Marci (Christopher) Percifield-Hoerz from his first marriage to Carla Kelver. Revered Step-father to Jason Larson and Jessica (Jeremy) Van Houten. Cherished Fishing Papa to Tyler and Benjamin Scott Hoerz. Treasured Grumpypants to Gabriella, Emma, Madelyn Van Houten. Dear siblings Lavern, Sharon, Michael, Susan and Daniel. Gilbert is further survived by a host of family and friends.  His precious dogs Fletch and Cheyenne are heartbroken without him.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert Sr and Theresa Percifield. His siblings Edward, Glen, Patricia, Judy, David, and Jeffery. Gilbert was lovingly greeted by his beloved dogs Stormy, Buffy, Jazmine, Thunder, and Lighting.

Gilbert requested to be cremated and in the future his ashes will be interred at Pardeeville Cemetery.

A celebration of life to remember the good times, raise a glass and to honor the life of Gilbert will be on April 6, 2019 at 2pm at Olde Chicago Bar 147 N Main St, Pardeeville, WI 53954. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the family.
