Douglas Lytle, 65 of Wyocena, passed away in the early hours January 1, 2019 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo after encountering numerous health problems that include by-pass surgery, dialysis, arthritis, and infection ending with amputation.
He was born February 1, 1953 to Max and Doris (Hawley) Lytle. Doug proudly served his country for four years in the U.S. Airforce in the Philippines. He was an avid reader of books on planes, loved to go to the EEA air show in Oshkosh, and attended many fly-in breakfasts. He also enjoyed the Green Bay Packers and many other types of sports.
Doug was employed at Ray-O-Vac in Portage for 29 years and then worked some other part-time jobs including at American Girl.
Survivors include his father Max Lytle; sister Karen Lytle; and aunt Maxine Kampstra.
He was preceded in death by his mother Doris.
Funeral services with full military will be held Tuesday, January 8 at 11 AM at Wyocena Community Church with Rev. Mark Brandel officiating. Interment will follow at Wyocena Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial will be given to the Salvation Army in Doug’s memory. The family is very grateful to Pastor Mark and Wyocena Community Church for their support, the prayers for Doug, and the staffs of St. Mary’s Hospital and the Golden Living Center in Wisconsin Dells for the care they gave Doug.
