Craig W. Dolajeck

Craig William Dolajeck, 66, of Portage, WI, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, after a 12 day stay at UW Hospital in Madison from complications of 62 years with Type 1 diabetes.

Craig was born on Wednesday, April 11, 1951, son to Laverne and Doris (Bush) Dolajeck.Craig married his best friend, Connie, on August 18, 2005 and they made their home in Portage, WI. Craig graduated from Pardeeville High School in 1969 while earning his certificate in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers while working at General Indicator. Craig went on to earn his Associates degree in Science Electronic Engineering Technology from Wisconsin School of Electronics. Craig worked and retired from TDS Metrocom, formally MidPlains, in Middleton, WI for more than 40 years.

Craig had a lifelong love of deer hunting and in later years, enjoyed watching the deer and wildlife from out our back window and on our road trips. Craig was such a proud grandpa, relishing his time with his grandkids always. Craig was passionate about his woodworking, restoring Tonka toys, antiquing collecting and was an all-around super handyman.

Craig is survived by his loving wife, Connie Dolajeck (Stuchlik) of Portage, son, Chris Dolajeck, of Madison, Step-daughters Jessie Santas, of Pardeeville, Brandy (Casey) Schaefer, of Potosi and Erin Santas of Baraboo. Grandchildren Daphne Beckius, of Pardeeville, Liam Schaefer of Potosi, and Nolan Schaefer, of Potosi and many other dear family and friends.

Craig was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and brother Gary.

A celebration of Craig's life will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, from 12 to 3pm as an informal gathering with luncheon at Grasse Funeral Home in Pardeeville. Craig will be buried in Pardeeville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Craig's name to the American Diabetes Association. We know every moment with you was a gift, it doesn't make us miss you any less until we meet again.
