Clara (Kaiser) (Young) Erickson

Clara J. (Young) Erickson, 92, of Pardeeville, passed away peacefully with her husband and family by her side on Sunday April 1, 2018.

She was born April 14, 1925, in Britton, Oklahoma, the daughter of Anton and Anna Kaiser. She was a valedictorian of her Central High School class of 1941. Clara married Spencer Erickson in 2002.

Clara was an active member for years of the Pardeeville United Methodist Church where she was instrumental in the Bible study program. She also enjoyed many hobbies including her many Blue-Ribbon pottery creations, card making and rubber stamping, especially Christmas cards. She was an animal lover including her many horses and dogs she had over the years. Clara’s husband Spencer is a talented musician which Clara enjoyed and was very encouraging and supportive.

Clara began working in 1966 for Madison Gas and Electric, working as a supervisor of the Customer Information Center until her retirement in 1987.

She is survived by her husband, Spencer; her children, Donna (Dave) Patton, Jim Young; step-children, Rock (Mike) Erickson, Randy Erickson and Tracie (James) Taalbi; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; she will also be missed by her mini horse, Tommy, and her dog Prince; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Young; her son, Tom Young; step-son, Kurt Erickson; and sisters, Alice Thaden and Ruthie Norwood.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Grasse Funeral Home, 119 Industrial Drive, Pardeeville. Visitation will also be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 7, when a celebration of Clara’s life will take place at Pardeeville United Methodist Church, 101 Wisconsin St., Pardeeville. Burial will follow in Marcellon Cemetery.
