Carol J. Zuhlke, 81 of Dalton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 15, 1938 in Paoli, WI, the daughter of Ernest and Iona (Niemeyer) Ebneter. She graduated from Portage High School in 1956. She was united in marriage to Raymond Zuhlke September 15, 1956. With her husband, they ran the family farm from 1958 until 2005. Carol was a corrections officer for 17 years. She enjoyed collecting flow blue dishes, attending horse shows with her children, going to garage sales, gardening, canning, the casino and euchre club.
Survivors include son Ronald (Susan) Zuhlke; daughters Sandra Padgett and Dana (Don) Dittberner; seven grandchildren Jason (Jennifer) Udell, Clint (Bobbi) McMillan, Jake Venechuk, Kyle Venechuk (Angela Watts), Valerie (Kyle) Jenkins, Laura (Randy) Ruck, and Ashley Zuhlke; nine-great grandchildren, Jordan, Jacob, Wyatt, Kylie, Sawyer, Henry, Riley, Jolee, and Aayla; sister Judy Ebneter; brother-in-law Leonard Zuhlke; special friend Dorothy Mattke, and many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; daughter Suzan; brothers James and Kenneth; sister Virginia “Peggy”, in-laws Robert Lawver, Harvey Barden, Leo (Lois) Butt and Don (Elva) Schwochert, and June Zuhlke; uncle John Ebneter and aunt Emily Ebneter.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 11 AM at Grasse Funeral Home, 119 Industrial Drive, Pardeeville with Chaplain Gloria Stubitsch officiating. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Dalton. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Makielski and staff and the staff of Agrace Hospice for the compassionate care they gave Carol.
