Verlyn A. Schuette, age 88 of Loganville, passed away peacefully March 23, 2024 at the Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. He was born January 21, 1936 in Loganville to Arold and Dorthea Schuette.
Verlyn was a graduate of Reedsburg High School. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from April 29, 1957 to April 4, 1961. He then married Karen A. Luetkens October 8, 1966 in Hillpoint. Verlyn was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church his entire life. His fond memory he would never forget was being able to go on the Badger Honor Flight with his granddaughter Jordan Schuette on September 17, 2022. Verlyn loved to visit with his family, friends, and neighbors.
His survivors include his wife Karen Schuette; son Doug (Amy) Schuette; granddaughter Jordan Schuette; brother Henry Schuette; sister Merry Ann (Leonard) Hanusa; sister Dorthy Mae (Edward) Zobel; brother John Schuette; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Arold and Dorthea Schuette, sister Gertrude (Fredrick) Wilhelm; sister Eunice ( Henry) Brenner; brother Edward (Mary) Schuette; father and mother in-law Emil and Arlene Luetkins; brother-in-law Dennis (Paula) Luetkens; and sister in law Darlene Schuette.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 13 at 11 AM at the Zion Lutheran Stone Church in the Westfield Township with Vicar Jay Kiel officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until time of service. Inurnment will take place after the service at the Zion Lutheran Stone Cemetery with a luncheon to follow.
