Welcome to the memorial page for

William D. Mallon

May 7, 1926 ~ July 29, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

William Dennis Mallon, age 91, of Doylestown passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.

He was born May 7, 1926 to Henry and Lorretta Mallon in Doylestown in the house his father built and where he lived his entire life. William attended Columbus High School in Columbus and then he entered the Army and served his country during World War II. On September 15, 1951 he married Margaret Agnew at Last Lake Catholic Church. They were married for 51 years until she passed in January 2003. He later married Ruth Hagen May 1, 2004 and they were married until Ruth passed in 2010. William worked at Wuethrich Cheese Factory in Doylestown and then worked at the Fall River Foundry as a molder from the day they opened until his retirement on May 1, 1989. He was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Doylestown. He was a very devoted man and served God, his family, and his community. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, father in-law, uncle, and grandfather. He was one of the original members of the Doylestown Fire Department and served for 25 years. For the annual Firemen’s picnic, he was in charge of grilling the chicken for the meal and spent many hours preparing and did an excellent job. He will be remembered for his broad smile and joyful Irish nature right up until the end of his life. William enjoyed time spent with family and friends, especially time with his grandsons Chad and Andrew who he loved greatly, and gave endless love to his daughter Maureen. He loved his fishing and pheasant hunting and was an excellent carpenter. At the end of his life he received excellent, loving care from the staff at Heritage Court Memory Care in Eau Claire, WI. His last celebration was on May 7, 2017 for his 91st birthday, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He has now received his final reward with his heavenly Father and will live in our hearts forever.

William is survived by his daughter Maureen (Chris) Kolstad of Altoona, WI; grandsons Chad (Angeline) Gardner, Eau Claire, and Andrew Gardner, Madison; many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret (Agnew) in 2003, and wife Ruth (Hagen) in 2010; brothers Bernard, Richard, and Patrick Mallon; two sisters Mary (Packel) Janchan and Katherine Neesam; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law;  several nieces and nephews.
