William Howard Bordihn Jr., age 89 of Dalton, passed away and took the train to heaven Sunday, April 1, 2018 at his home.
He was born October 30, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA to William Howard Sr. and Wilhelmina Fredericka (Donohugh) Bordihn.
He proudly served his country as a Marine in the United States Marine Corp. from 1951 to 1953. Bill attended Drexel University and worked as civil engineer for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for over 30 years until his retirement in 1994. He was married to Margaret Ellen Krawczyk February 8, 1986 and they resided in Milwaukee until moving to Marquette County in 1991. Over the years, Bill enjoyed model railroading, woodworking, and playing Sheep’s Head. He was also active in Rotary, Pro-Rail, and Toastmasters. Bill was honored with the ability to take the honor flight to Washington D.C. in September of 2016.
Survivors include his wife Margaret, three daughters Bridget (Steve) Deprey, Becky Pranghofer, and Tia (Bruce) Gendron; two step sons Christopher (Juliet) Krawczyk and Mark (Marecel) Krawczyk; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one sister Tobi Bordihn and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Sue, son-in-law Frank Pranghofer, sister Wilma Matzer, brother-in-law Rudy Matzer and nephew Randy Matzer.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 6 from 4 to 7 PM at Grasse Funeral Home, 119 Industrial Drive, Pardeeville. A short prayer service will follow at 7 PM. Bill will be laid to rest with full military honors Saturday, April 7 at 11:30 AM at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capital Drive, Brookfield. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Heartland Hospice and the Divine Savior Dialysis Center.
