Ronald W. Jokerst

Ronald W. Jokerst, age 85 of Marcellon Township, passed away suddenly Thursday, January 4, 2018 at his home.

He was born April 13, 1932 in Sterling, Il, the son of Ben Jr. and Rose (Smith) Jokerst. He served his country during the Korean War. On August 18, 1956 he was united in marriage to Ruth Skytte in Evanston, Il. Three children blessed their marriage. Ron received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and his graduate degree from Duke University.  Ron worked for the United States Forest Services as a research laboratory technician. Ron and Ruth lived in Madison for 27 years, retiring in Pardeeville in 1993. He truly loved the outdoors and everything it had to offer.

He is survived by his wife Ruth of Pardeeville; three children, Timothy (Michaella) Jokerst of Virginia, Kristine DeBaun of Kentucky, and Sheryl (Kevin) Edson of Oshkosh; two grandchildren T.J.(Alyssa) Jokerst of Virginia and Justin DeBaun of Kentucky; three step-grandchildren, Natalie, Ashley, and Kelly; several great grandchildren; brother Jim (Gail) Jokerst; nieces, nephews, other near relatives: special friends Dan and Cindi Killoran and other dear friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Phyllis Summers.

Memorial services with full military honors will be held Wednesday, January 10 at 11 AM at Grasse Funeral Home, 119 Industrial Drive Pardeeville, WI with Rev. Chuck Walton officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.  A gathering and meal will follow the service at the funeral home.
