Roger W. Benzine, age 63 of Packwaukee, formerly of Rio, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Madison.
Rog was born September 27, 1953 in Otsego Township to Wilbur and Alice (Stilson) Benzine. He was a graduate from Rio High School. Roger loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He especially loved spending time with his family. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy while being stationed on the U.S.S. Benjamin Franklin. His dogs were his pride and joy. Rog was an amazing cook who could turn anything into an edible treat.
Survivors include his love of his life fiancé Tina Woelflein of 26 years, five children; Andrew (Kristie) Benzine, Lindsay (Steven) Siekert, Laura Benzine (Scott Hall), Aaron Woelflein (Michelle Winchester), and Stephanie Woelflein, thirteen grandchildren, two brothers Gary (Ellen) Benzine and Brian (Lynette) Benzine and many other relatives, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two nephews Joshua Benzine and Patrick Maginnis.
Memorial Services with full military honors will be held Sunday, September 24 at 1 PM at Grasse Funeral Home in Rio. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of services. A man’s stories is all he has & through his stories, a man lives forever.
