Robert L. Goodenow

Robert Leroy Goodenow, age 52 of Portage, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 1, 2017 as a result of a workplace incident.

He was born June 30, 1964 in Ohio to James J. Goodenow and Shirley A. Stancer. He attended and graduated from Portage High School. He was employed at Samuel’s Recycling in Portage for many years until his current employment at Didion Milling in Cambria. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, antiquing, and loved his pets. Spending time with his family and nieces and nephews was one of his truest joys. Robert was a hard worker who always lent a hand to others.

Survivors include his siblings Ronald A. (Laura) Goodenow of Baraboo, Patricia A. Parish of Vail, AZ, Brenda Goodenow (Darrin Wianecki) of Wisconsin Dells, Sandra (Joseph) Leonard of Knoxville, TN, and Barry Berg of Montello, and several nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Goodenow and infant sister Pamela.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 10 at 11 AM at Grasse Funeral Home in Pardeeville with Rev. Mark Brandel officiating. Interment will follow at Marcellon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.
