Richard "Dick" Stracke

Richard Stracke of Marcellon Township went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.

He was born in Racine on May 11, 1949 to Peter and Mary Jane (Vassallo) Stracke.  He served both his country and community on the Cambodian border with the Navy during the Vietnam War and as a City of Milwaukee firefighter for 25 years.  He was joined in marriage to Jane Michels (Gall) on March 27, 1987.  In 2001, they retired to the home they built in the town of Marcellon.  Dick enjoyed gardening, hunting, flying, and most of all fishing.  Survivors include his beloved with Jane; brother Thomas (Sandy); sisters Suzanne (Thomas) Shea, and Jacqueline (Douglas) Kroes; step children Paul, Matthew, Anne Michels, and Laura (Rob) Neitzel and grandson Michael.  Known and loved as Uncle Dick to nephews and nieces, he will be missed by many cousins, relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14th at 12:00 P.M. at Grace Presbyterian Church, N7631 State Road 22, Pardeeville.  Interment will follow at North Marcellon Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 9:00 until the time of services at the church Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, Gideons, or River Haven Homeless Shelter.
