Mary Lou A. (Hoeppner) Borde

Mary Lou A. “Mertz” Borde, age 82 of Rio, passed away on Thursday, November, 23, 2017.  She was born on October 7, 1935, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Cook) Hoeppner.  Mertz loved fishing and hunting, even when she was sick, she got a buck while bowhunting at the age of 80.  She also loved flowers all her dogs and cats.  Mertz is survived by her children, Allen Kerr, Sue Berger, Duane Kerr, Jim (Michelle) Kerr and Joyce Borde; step children, Edward (Laurie) Borde, Jean (Arlie) Klipstein, Joanne Borde, Charles Mislivecek; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many step grandchildren and great grandchildren; 3 brothers Donald (Lois) Hoeppner, Roger (Sharon) Hoeppner and Gary Hoeppner; 2 sisters, Carol Heeres and Sandra Hoeppner.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Howard Borde; her son, Lloyd Borde; her daughter, Wendy Kerr; and by her siblings Fritz Hoeppner and Darlene Vick.  A celebration of life for both Mertz and Howard may be held in the spring.
