John E. Catlin

John E. Catlin, age 74 of Portage, passed away August 31, 2017 peacefully at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg.

He was born to John and Margaret Catlin on April 27, 1943. He served in the Army during the Korean War. John was an engineer for the Milwaukee Railroad for about 20 years. He was also a big Packer fan and watched the games with his best buddy Yumm Yumm. John was married to Nancy, the love of his life, September 9, 2000.

John is survived by his wife Nancy; son Chad (Cindy) Catlin; granddaughter Kayla Catlin; grandsons Justin and Brockton; brother Gary Catlin; nieces Rhonda Roidt and Reva (Mark) Smith; many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Duane Catlin, and sister Kay Manley.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 7 at 11 AM at the United Methodist Church in Portage with Rev. Tom Countryman officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service.
