Grace I. Huber

Grace I. Huber, age 92 of Poynette/Wyocena, passed away at home with family on Sunday December 10, 2017.  She was born on November 25, 1925 in Argyle, WI. the daughter of Ole and Ella (Nybroten) Lien. She graduated from Madison Business College and worked for National Mutual Benefit Insurance Company in Madison.

Grace married Russell F. Huber on September 15, 1951 in Madison.  He preceded her in death in 2008. Grace and Russell farmed in the Poynette area, she not only cared for the family but also very involved in day to day operations of the farm.  She was also involved in the community, volunteering as a youth leader in 4-H, many activities with her church, Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rio, she was also member of the Columbia County and Wisconsin “Porkettes” which was the ladies’ auxiliary of the Pork Producers.

Grace also had many interests including, singing, dancing, playing cards, gardening and flowers, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, cross stich, embroidery, cooking and baking especially Angel food cakes.  She was also an avid birdwatcher. She was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. 

Grace is survived by her children, Gary (LaVonne) Huber, Fred (Karen Ramsey) Huber, Janeen (Tom) Reid and LeeAnn (Bruce) Waugh; her grandchildren, Clint Huber, Alesha (Justin) Cowen, Kim (Justin) Ross, Keri (Jody) Knight, Kayla (Lucas) Schultz, Kasey Huber, Kelly Huber, Kurtis (Robert) Dinkle, Katie Huber, Garrett (Kelli) Graber, Brock (Holly) Graber. Lindsay (Shane) Maddock, Aaron Waugh and Taylor Waugh; 12 great grandchildren; Brother, Arnold (Janice) Lien; Sister, Virginia Bredeson and Sister-in-law Helen Matlachowski.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Russell and by a grandson Kellen Huber. 

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 19 at 11:30 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church 610 Lincoln Ave. Rio with Pastor Ann Walsvik presiding. Burial will be in Lowville Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of services on Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church. The family would like to Thank Pastor Ann Walsvik and also to the staff of Agrace HospiceCare for all the care and support you have given Grace and her family.
