Alexander J. MacDonald

Alexander J. MacDonald, 83, of Pardeeville passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Columbia Health Care Center.

He was born June 16, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI.  He retired from the phone company in 1985, after 30 years of service.  After his retirement he started to exhibit personalized clay sculptures at art fairs.  They ranged from pool parties to hunting scenes.  Alex enjoyed spending time with his family and treasured grandsons.  He was an avid reader, enjoyed drawing, wood working and building.

Survivors include his beloved wife Joan (Dietzler) of 60 years, his children Greg MacDonald, Clayton CA, Mary (Dan) Wegner, Lodi, WI, grandchildren Garret and Nathen Wegner, sisters Shirley Moser and Jean McCabe, brother Fred (Beverly) MacDonald and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-laws John Moser and Tom McCabe.

A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, April 19 at 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Pardeeville with Rev. Bill Dietzler (brother-in-law) officiating, followed by a light lunch. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of services. Inurnment will follow after lunch at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice in honor of Alex.
